A bunad is more than clothing—it’s a reflection of passion for Norwegian craftsmanship. We are proud to share that knowledge and ensure bunads continue to be made locally.

We offer personal guidance to help ensure your bunad fits perfectly and suits your needs. Every customer is treated with respect and equality.

Innovation
While we honor tradition, we are open to new ideas and ways to improve our products and services. Environmental responsibility is at the core of everything we do.

Our history

Hulda Bunader was founded by Hege Steihaug Barstad and her husband, Kai Røen. Since starting as a small one-person business in 2009, we became a limited company in 2019 and changed our name to Hulda Bunader AS in 2024.

Today, our bunad studio is located at the beautiful Bogstad Gård in Oslo, and our online store offers our own carefully developed products. We are proud to carry Norwegian bunad traditions into the future.

We warmly invite you to join us—whether you’re ready to sew your own bunad or simply want to explore and learn more about Norway’s rich cultural heritage.
